The Super Lidar application aims to assist individuals who are blind or visually impaired with object and people detection, as well as providing information about their surroundings’ layout without the need for an active internet connection. Developed by Mediate, an AI start-up from Boston with a focus on innovative computer vision systems, the Super Lidar app utilizes artificial intelligence and Lidar sensors, now available on the iPhone 12 Pro, to enhance spatial awareness capabilities.

 <li>Depth Description: The app scans and maps the 3D environment to determine distances and provides auditory feedback for obstacle avoidance. A higher pitch indicates greater distances, while a lower pitch alerts users to nearby obstacles. Additionally, haptic feedback on iPhones intensifies as obstacle size increases.</li>
 
 <li>People Detector: Recognizes individuals through the camera and notifies users of their proximity, promoting social distancing.</li>
 
 <li>Mask Detector: Verifies whether individuals nearby are wearing face coverings.</li>
</ul>

Super Lidar is designed to be user-friendly with VoiceOver accessibility and multilingual support. Users can seek assistance by requesting a call or accessing the Help screen within the app's Menu section. The app reflects human-centered design principles and has been developed in collaboration with blind and visually impaired individuals, ensuring a user-centric approach.
